While it's important to keep your suit dry-cleaned for hygiene, doing it too often will reduce its lifespan. The ideal frequency will depend on how often you wear it or to what extent your suit is dirty and sweaty. As such, your body heat, activity, and the suit’s stains largely determine cleaning frequency.
Why shouldn’t suits be dry cleaned often?
The chemicals used in the dry cleaning process can strip and damage the fibers of your suit. The residues of these solvents may even get deposited in your fabric and cause the fibers to become brittle. This way, your suit may start appearing worn-out within a few years or even months.
