While it's important to keep your suit dry-cleaned for hygiene, doing it too often will reduce its lifespan. The ideal frequency will depend on how often you wear it or to what extent your suit is dirty and sweaty. As such, your body heat, activity, and the suit’s stains largely determine cleaning frequency.
Why shouldn’t suits be dry cleaned often?
The chemicals used in the dry cleaning process can strip and damage the fibers of your suit. The residues of these solvents may even get deposited in your fabric and cause the fibers to become brittle. This way, your suit may start appearing worn-out within a few years or even months.

If you are one of these people, you have two options - one is to hire professional cleaners, the other is to learn how to properly clean your furniture. But you need not worry, whichever you decide to do: most professional cleaners are very competent with their job; and you might find that with the proper upholstery cleaning guide, sprucing up your furniture may not be very difficult.
